Hope Springs Resort is an absolute dream! It’s one of those rare places where your nervous system relaxes before your mind even catches up. From the moment I arrived, I felt an immediate sense of peace, calm, and safety, like I had stepped into a carefully protected world designed for restoration. The property is exquisitely done, with a true mid-century modern sensibility that feels intentional rather than styled. The architecture, rooms, and outdoor spaces flow beautifully together, and every detail feels considered, from the layout of the grounds to the way the gardens unfold around you. There are three pools, each with a different water temperature, invite you to listen to your body and slow down. Whether soaking, swimming, or simply sitting poolside as the light changes, the experience feels deeply grounding. Sunset here is especially special, quiet, spacious, and beautiful. The morning breakfast was so thoughtful. Wholesome, healthy, fresh food that is delicious - with plenty of vegan options. Hope Springs attracts a certain kind of guest. People who value design, tranquility, and intentional living, and who respect silence, beauty, and space. There’s a loyal clientele, including plenty of Los Angeles and Hollywood folks, who have been coming back for years. The owner, Todd is incredibly hospitable and an amazing person, he’s a big part of why people come back. If you’re looking for a place to truly exhale, reset, and reconnect with yourself in a setting that feels both elegant and deeply human, this is it. So delighted to have found this gem.

I'm a longtime visitor to Desert Hot Springs. I've tried a number of spa hotels/ B&Bs in the DHS area, but somehow had never gotten around to trying Hope Springs. Until this weekend. If you're looking for quiet serenity, and to have the place mostly to yourself (or at least, it feels that way), come to Hope Springs. It's a restored mid-century modern motel with a lot of kitschy and fun details that have been preserved - such as the sunken fire pit (now a fountain), vintage-looking kitchen appliances, and the huge 50s-era sign that is still lit-up, but is now blank. There's also a large spring-fed pool, and two hot tubs (one covered, one not). And a great view of the mountains - which as of the time of writing, were dusted with snow. The breakfast buffet is generous, and very tasty - probably the most lavish of any local B&B. On both mornings I was there, they had a loaf of fresh bread, a pan of coffee cake or apple crumble, a frittata, muffins, dried fruit, fresh berries, various yogurts, cereal, fruit juice, and coffee (both iced and hot). And snacks and beverages available throughout the day. There was a communal kitchen and grill, as well, but I didn't need to use it. Maybe next time. There weren't too many downsides. The room decor was a little sparse for me, with white walls, white bedding, and only a single framed print above the bed - I prefer a more organic and cozy space. But that was only a matter of preference. It was perfectly fine, and befitted the mid-century style. And while I prefer a bathtub over a shower, you get the bathroom as it was built (in the 50s). One comment about DHS in general: What some "newbies" might see as a desolate and run-down area, I've come to see as peaceful, quiet, and calm. It's not touristy, but that's the point. People don't come to DHS to party, drink, and go clubbing; that's what Palm Springs is for. And don't be fooled by the residential appearance of the neighborhood; most DHS spa hotels are close to, or next to a house or street with houses. It's not weird once you're used to it. So if you're reading this, and are making a reservation with the expectation of staying at a fancy B&B with a bell desk and on-site restaurant, you may want to reset your expectations. That's virtually non-existent in DHS.

Hope Springs Resort is a true desert gem — a mid-century modern oasis tucked above the Coachella Valley. With just ten rooms and three pools fed by natural hot mineral springs, it offers a rare sense of peace and privacy. The views are breathtaking, stretching across the valley to Mount San Jacinto. Whether at sunrise or dusk, the desert light makes everything glow. The atmosphere is serene and unhurried — no noise, no crowds, just the soothing sound of flowing water and warm desert air. The rooms are stylish yet comfortable, with clean lines, soft tones, and thoughtful mid-century touches that make relaxation effortless. If you’re seeking beautiful views, quiet surroundings, and timeless design, Hope Springs Resort is the perfect escape — elegant, tranquil, and unforgettable.

Love, love this place! The middle pool is just right for me. Each room has a little patio. A very cute 50's style motel dressed up with nice landscaping. However, I'm too old for the low bed with a large wooden platform surrounding it. So I will not be able to return.

My wife dragged me here I just wanted to stay home but to my surprise I loved it here because it's quiet and peaceful. And no kids allowed! They have a bbq and a designated smoking are. The 3 pools were great and the drinking water is tasty!!
